Claas Jaguar 870
The Claas Jaguar 870 is a forage harvester with an output of 430 kW (585 HP). It includes an in-line 6-cylinder engine from Mercedes Benz with a displacement of 15.6 litres, is equipped with common-rail high-pressure injection technology and meets the Tier 4 emission standard thanks to the downstream treatment of exhaust fumes. The Dynamic Power System adjusts the engine power in ten stages, thus increasing efficiency and offering fuel savings of up to 10%. The cruise pilot system in the Claas Jaguar 870 also contributes to optimum motor utilisation as it continually adapts the driving speed to the current load. In first gear, a speed of up to 16.8 km/h is possible. Furthermore, the Claas Jaguar 870 offers good manoeuvrability, thanks to its low weight, small turning radius and ground clearance. The cutter-head, which has V-shaped blades, allows for optimum performance with low power consumption and reduced wear. Furthermore, the Claas Jaguar 870 equipped with a metal detector and a stone detector and promptly stops the feeder upon detection of metal parts and stones. Thanks to the sophisticated technology in the Jaguar, optimum filling can be ensured by making use of the Auto-Fill and Opti-Fill settings. In order to facilitate efficient picking, cutting and harvesting, the Claas Jaguar 870 can be fitted with various attachments. The open plan Vista Cab cabin offers great comfort with two seats, all-round visibility and built-in air conditioning. In addition, an optional rear-view camera provides a good overview to the back. The integrated LED lighting makes working easier by providing sufficient and even lighting, this is especially useful when harvesting in the dark. The CEBIS board system, which was also developed by Claas, can be operated from the cab. This system means that it is possible to change the settings in the Claas Jaguar 870 easily from the driver's seat. These include, for example, the engine speed, four-wheel drive or the automatic grinding of the knives.
